These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the My Life Journey website and services at mylifejourney.co.uk (the “Service”) operated by My Life Journey (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our Service.

1. Definitions

• “Service” refers to the My Life Journey website, tools, and printed book services.
• “User”, “you”, “your” refers to anyone who accesses or uses the Service.
• “Content” refers to all text, images, and media you upload or create using the Service.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.
• You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

• We offer Standard and Premium subscription plans, available on a monthly or annual billing cycle.
• Subscription fees are billed in advance via Stripe, our payment processor.
• Annual plans are billed as a single upfront payment.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
• We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on new subscriptions. Contact us within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund.
• We reserve the right to change our fees with at least 30 days’ notice. Existing subscribers will be charged the new rate at the next renewal.

4. Printed Books

• Printed book prices are estimates and may vary based on final page count and delivery address.
• Delivery is currently available to UK addresses only.
• Production typically takes 5–10 working days, plus delivery time.
• If your book arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 14 days for a free replacement.
• We are not liable for delivery delays caused by the courier or events beyond our control.

5. Your Content

• You retain full ownership of all Content you create or upload to the Service.
• You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process, and print your Content solely to provide the Service.
• You are solely responsible for your Content and ensuring you have the rights to any photos or text you upload.
• You must not upload Content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes the rights of others.
• We reserve the right to remove Content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

6. Legacy Vault

• The Legacy Vault allows you to store messages and media for delivery to chosen recipients at a future date.
• You are responsible for providing accurate recipient contact details.
• We will make reasonable efforts to deliver Vault messages according to your instructions, but we cannot guarantee delivery if recipient details are no longer valid.
• Vault messages are stored securely and will not be accessed by us except as necessary to operate the Service or as required by law.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user’s account.
• Scrape, copy, or distribute Content from the Service without permission.
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of My Life Journey and is protected by UK and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

• The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
• Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• We are not liable for any loss of Content caused by you or by circumstances beyond our control.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we believe your activity is harmful to the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
